Unrealistic Expectations from God
That said, the God they worship is nothing but an extension of their fantasy, of the delusional world they live in, of their fragile ego. This means they have unrealistic expectations from Him. They delusionally believe that God will always take their side in any situation, no matter what. They think they can destroy people, steal money, and do all sorts of bad things, and yet God will accept them unconditionally. But you and I both know it does not work that way.
They also expect God to gift them with unlimited power and strength, to conquer and establish their territory. But that does not happen because God does not work that way. The universe does not work that way. It has its own balance, its own lessons to teach, which this narcissistic monster is not ready to learn at any point in their life.
In the initial years, a religious narcissist pretends to be God-fearing. They will make it seem like scripture is the way, and that is what they will pretend to follow. But their relationship with God is not based on love, understanding, and the pursuit of freedom, salvation, or God’s mercy. Their relationship with God is purely transactional.
