The hatred I’m talking about is such an intricate part of a narcissist’s identity that it pours out and gets projected onto every single person they encounter. You know how narcissists backbite; you know how they are in your face and how they act behind your back. They can turn gold into ash because they hate themselves, and that hatred also gets expressed as self-sabotage. I say they are their own biggest enemy.
This is why I also say when a narcissist says horrible things to you, when they belittle or nitpick you, please do not take it personally. I’m trying to prove to you why you shouldn’t. That nitpicking and belittling is actually not about you. To them, you are a mirror, and in you, they see the reflection of their true self.
Please sit with that and understand what I just said: they see in you the self they cannot accept. Spiritually speaking, they hate their own aura, their own energetic field, the vibrations they send out to the universe. Now, I think it will make sense to you that they never loved you. They never saw you for who you are. You keep asking, “Oh, I’m so loving, I’m so empathetic. Why doesn’t that narcissist see what I have to offer?” My dear survivor, that person has never truly seen what you have to offer because they are so full of hatred toward themselves. Everything you offer gets enveloped in it; it is the fire that touches your gifts and turns them into ash.
You are nothing but a means to an end. It will make sense to you: you were an extension, a confirmation of the fact that they are not as bad as they think they are. When they came into your life, they saw you as a trophy. The control they feel once they win you is what fixes their hatred-driven mentality. It is the thrill they seek so desperately. But you know what happens after that? It comes crashing down, and the monsters lurking beneath start showing up again.
