When a narcissist was with you, he was never grateful, he never appreciated you and what you did for him. The narcissist thinks that he already has you and doesn’t have to try anymore, he thinks that you will always be there and that you are his property, an object with specific tasks. The narcissist believes that you will always give him what he needs.
He believes this no matter how badly he treats you. The narcissist believes that everyone else is ready to give him the same or even more. When a narcissist leaves you he begins to face reality, the narcissist must accept the reality of the situation that you are no longer there. When you are no longer there for the narcissist, he has no support, he doesn’t get what he needs, that’s when he started to realize reality.
The narcissist may show you the perfect scenes, it may be beautiful vacation photos posted on social media , you may see the narcissist with a new source of supply. What you see in photos, just because you see a narcissist with a new source of supply, smiling and looking happy, does not mean it is real, it is just an illusion.
The narcissist is a master of manipulation and illusion, nothing is what it seems. A narcissist is a master of deception, he will give a false impression, a narcissist will deliberately make you believe lies. The narcissist does it for his own gain.
