If you’re in a time of your life where you’re trying to get some distance from a narcissistic person or set boundaries, and you decide that maybe this is the year that you’re not going to call them or interact with them on their birthday, be prepared for a torrent of rage. It’s something about that day, something about that day where they feel like they’re guaranteed validation, that if people don’t perform, many times people will be paying the price for that until the narcissist’s next birthday.
