Narcissists desire to be the center of your universe. Some of their victims put narcissists ahead of everything else in their lives, including their well-being. When you begin to be consistent and genuine, a narcissist will feel threatened and eventually walk away. Before you walk away, keep in mind that a narcissist will go to any length to manipulate you. Even when dealing with a narcissist, you must maintain your interests, engagements, and identity. Knowing your worth quickly enables you to recognize what is important and not. The hope is that they will eventually become bored and seek attention elsewhere. Always make yourself the center of your universe
when they get bored and find a new supply replacement.
Cheating is a means for a narcissist to fulfill their wants while simultaneously exerting control over their relationship. Most narcissists will cheat on someone they’re dating or married to, especially if their relationship or marriage is already well-established. Most narcissists find their new supply replacement while in a relationship. Suppose they find a partner who is superficially superior to you. They’ll tend to look for a younger, more attractive, wealthier, and more famous person. Once this new supply rejects them, they may come around again to you. Hopefully, you are nowhere to be found by the narcissists by then.
Narcissists will leave you when you no longer satisfy their needs. Some narcissists, especially those with a high level of commitment, will stay in an abusive relationship as long as they can extract some sort of narcissistic supply. In contrast, other narcissists find they’re not getting enough and leave at the first opportunity. On the other hand, the indicators of approaching separation may be less obvious red flags that might have served as a warning if they had been spotted sooner. This can be difficult to determine on the spot. And if it’s hit or miss, you’re likely to suffer as a result.
