Second, you can successfully limit your contact with the narcissist to a minimum. If the narcissist cannot locate or contact you, they lose any meaningful access to your life. By severing all ties with them, you make it impossible for them to re-enter your life unless they resort to manipulation and lies.
Cutting all ties is one of the most effective ways to ensure they never return. Once a narcissist has been publicly exposed, they are unlikely to return because they cannot bear the thought of being humiliated again.
Maintaining Boundaries
A narcissist thrives on a façade to function. If you reveal their true nature, they will run and hide. To rebuild, they will need to find a fresh audience to deceive. Narcissists will not come back if you stop providing them with the resources they need to thrive—whether it’s your time, money, sympathy, or emotional energy.
Cutting off their supply, particularly emotional, forces them to seek other sources. People who don’t care are less likely to invest their resources in a narcissist.
