You might ask if they are aware of this. They know the impact of their actions. They’ve created these negative associations and understand that yawning loudly will elicit a reaction from you—and that’s exactly what they want. How do we know they do this intentionally? Think of the last time the narcissist yawned loudly around you. What were you doing? Maybe you were trying to rest, calm down, or spend time with someone else. Why did they come from another room to yawn near you? Their intentionality is the proof that it’s done to cause you harm.

Weird behavior number two is loud sneezing. Some people naturally sneeze loudly, but narcissists exaggerate their responses, especially if it gets them a favorable reaction. After a loud sneeze, you might see them smile or laugh, satisfied that they made you anxious or paranoid. If you try to communicate about their sneezing habit, they might accuse you of trying to control them, turning the situation around to make you feel like the abuser. Their loud, repetitive sneezing will disturb you, keeping you agitated and unable to concentrate. While it may seem like a normal habit, in the context of a narcissist, it’s a deliberate tactic to irritate and unsettle you.
