Behind their mask of extreme confidence, they have fragile self-esteem. Narcissists are always trying to outdo everybody around them. They have to be right, and they believe that they are smarter, more deserving, and more superior to everyone else. Because of this, they’ll be playing competitive games with unsuspecting friends or colleagues. If you feel some form of attack or hostility from them, be aware of your response. Some narcissists feel good about themselves when they upset you. Try not to openly show them that they got you. Neutrally give them less time and attention.

Narcissists flip over the slightest criticism; they perceive everything as a threat. A narcissist can misinterpret sarcasm and jokes as personal attacks. They also don’t take any responsibility for their wrongful acts and always blame others for their mistakes. Did we mention that they keep grudges? This is not to say that you should endure their treatment. Rather, focus your attention from them to yourself and to the solution. Don’t engage their narcissistic rage.
