The second move they make is posting your intimate pictures and videos online to blackmail you. They do this to fill you with panic, make you anxious, and ultimately indecisive. They don’t want you to think clearly; they want you to feel imprisoned and see the world as a cage with no escape from them. This triggers a sense of helplessness and despair, which might drive you back to the narcissist. This tactic is known as revenge porn.
One crazy thing about these intimate pictures and videos is that you may not have given them permission to record you or take your pictures. They shock you when they send them, and you wonder, “When did you take these? How do you have these pictures or videos?” They may have files, tons of them, and knew one day they would put them to use.
