Many narcissists harbor strange, almost superstitious, beliefs about control. They may engage in bizarre rituals or obsessive behaviors, convinced that these will help them maintain their grip over others. This obsessive need for control often borders on irrationality, revealing how deeply insecure they are.
Let me give you an example. A narcissist may believe that carrying a certain pen with them, wearing a certain color, or keeping a specific object with them all the time gives them power and control over others. It makes them feel like the king or queen. I have seen this happen. The association they create becomes an extension of the false reality they live in. I’ve seen how they sit in a certain position, behave in a certain way, and hold on to things to maintain the power and control they think they have. They may keep a trinket, an accessory, or even a color they associate with dominance and influence. It’s quite strange but also very telling. It reveals how disconnected they are from reality.
What does this all mean? Why am I sharing these truths with you? It’s because if you understand the mechanics of the narcissist’s mind, you will know that it’s not your fault. It was never your fault, to begin with. They have internalized mechanisms, insecurities, and fears that they are trying to hide from you by deceiving you. The best way to protect yourself is to understand these truths, stand strong, and not let their facade dictate your reality. Let the facade crumble, and reclaim your power.
Sharing is caring!
