Many survivors stop wearing lipstick, especially bold colors.
Why? Because the narcissist silenced them.
They were forced to second-guess themselves, manipulated into believing their voice didn’t matter. Even after leaving, this habit lingers—skipping lipstick becomes a subconscious way of staying quiet.
But it’s time to break the pattern. Wear the red lipstick. Speak your truth. Take up space unapologetically.
7. Overdrawn Lips: Taking Back Space
On the other hand, some survivors go big on lips—overlining, plumping, exaggerating.
For years, they felt small. The narcissist made them feel like their presence was either too much or not enough at the same time.
Overdrawn lips symbolize taking back space—a visual way of saying, “I will not shrink myself anymore.”
