You were never in love with the narcissist, you were UNDER A SPELL!!

And let me say something else while it’s burning on my heart: I’ve been there. I’ve lived under that fog. I know what it’s like to give and give and give, hoping one day it’ll be enough—hoping the narcissist will finally see your heart and say, “I see you; I love you; I value you.” But it never comes, does it?

Here’s what that spell really is: it’s the lie that tells you you have to earn your place. You have to prove your worth every second, every breath. You’re always proving you’re patient enough, kind enough, loyal enough, forgiving enough. You’re always trying to be the bigger person, the peacemaker, the strong one. Meanwhile, the narcissist does nothing—nothing but take. That’s not love; that’s bondage.

And let me warn you: if that spell is cast by someone skilled or someone who knows how to cry on cue, beg at the right moment, whisper “I need you” in just the right tone—that spell can bind you for decades, lifetimes. I’ve met souls who’ve lived in that torment 20, 30, even 40 years and never saw the light because they were too busy trying to earn something that should have been given freely: respect.

Ever feel like your phone is chained to your heart? The narcissist’s name pops up, and suddenly your hands shake. You don’t want to answer, but you do. You stall, hoping they’ll hang up, but you pick up anyway. You already know no kindness is coming through that line, but you answer because something inside says, “What if?”
