This took me the longest to accept. Narcissists love playing the victim. They twist the story to make it seem like you were the problem.
And because you cut them off with no warning, you automatically become “crazy,” “bitter,” “selfish,” or whatever label they throw around to protect their ego.

In the past, that would’ve eaten me alive. I hated the idea of someone misunderstanding me. I wanted to explain, to prove my side.
But after six months? I just didn’t care anymore.

Let them talk. Let them play the victim. Let them cry to whoever listens.
Because the people who matter will know the truth. And the people who believe the narcissist were never really in my corner to begin with.

A reminder: “You matter. Your peace matters. Your mental health matters.”
It was a slow, steady rebuilding of self-worth after someone tried to destroy it.

I set healthier boundaries in every area of my life. I stopped explaining myself so much. I stopped apologizing for things that weren’t my fault.
I showed myself I could walk away from toxicity and survive — even thrive.

And honestly? That confidence spills over. Into work, into friendships, into how you carry yourself.
There’s a power in knowing you didn’t just escape a narcissist… you reclaimed your life.
