It’s fear dressed in vanity. Sometimes they hide the new supply like a guilty secret; other times, they flaunt it like a prize. Either way, it’s not about love; it’s about narrative. They want to prove to the world—and to themselves—that they’re still the lead in the story they’ve written. But deep down, they know the truth: that new connection likely began in the shadows, behind your back, before they ever left the stage. Because that’s how the script works: rewrite the ending before the current chapter’s even closed.
Now pause, breathe, and remember the pattern. How many times did you end up apologizing for their mistakes? How many circular conversations left you dizzy, drained, and still somehow guilty?
