When Karma Hits a Narcissist

At the end of a relationship with a narcissist, it often feels as though they no longer paid attention to you. They didn’t care about your needs or feelings; everything revolved around them. Their focus was solely on themselves and what they could extract from you. In this dynamic, the narcissist scapegoated you, using you as an emotional punching bag. They directed their negative emotions towards you, becoming angry for reasons that were either nonexistent or entirely imagined. In the end, you felt defeated, demoralized, and trapped in a difficult, complicated, and unpleasant situation.

The Illusion of Happiness

While the narcissist seemed to stroll away into the sunset, many who have gone through this ordeal begin to lose faith in their beliefs—whether in people, principles, values, or ideals. Questions start to surface: How could God allow this to happen? Why hasn’t karma hit the narcissist? Why do they seem to get away with everything without facing any consequences? It’s heartbreaking to see someone who has caused you so much pain walk away seemingly happy while you’re left with nothing after investing so much in them.
