In today’s topic, I really wanted to explore why narcissists tend to cheat. This is one of the most common questions I’m asked. Many of my clients and viewers often share with me that they give so much in their relationships, offering constant attention and love, but still, the narcissist cheats. They often ask, Why is my love not enough?
Despite the unconditional love you give, it doesn’t prevent a narcissist from seeking something else. This is because they provide only conditional love in return. Several factors contribute to this behavior, and I’ll go over these in the article.
Ultimately, narcissists cheat for various reasons, largely tied to their personality and their constant need for validation. Narcissists crave admiration and affirmation to fuel their ego. Cheating gives them this attention, similar to the exhilarating feeling at the beginning of a relationship. However, don’t think that they’re suddenly committed to this new person; it’s really just about having their needs met.
