Now, look at the eyes in this context. Their eyes appear completely dead, but at the same time, they exhibit sensory overload, as if they’re offline—too much input, too much threat, or too much exposure. Their nervous system shuts down the eyes first because sight is the most vulnerable sense. That is why you see that airy flatness in their gaze; their brain is withdrawing from the moment while their mouth is stuck in the reflex of bracing for it.
Personal Experiences and Conclusion
Have you witnessed this look? This is a rare experience that I usually had with my mother. When you offended her, said something wrong, or when her gaslighting did not work on you, she would just cross her arms, sit in that childish pose, and look downward with that fish-like mouth. My father also exhibited this behavior frequently.
I would like to know if you have encountered something similar. If so, please share your experiences in the comments below. With that, let’s bring this episode to an end. Thank you so much for listening and watching. I will talk to you in the next one.
