Narcissists and Flying Monkeys Fear You When You Do These Things

They Fear Your Healthy Boundaries
Narcissists and their flying monkeys have no respect for boundaries and hate when you enforce yours. They’ll try to push you past your limits, but remember, those boundaries are there for a reason, and it’s important to maintain them with confidence.

They Fear Rejection and Being Ignored
Narcissists crave attention and fear being ignored. When you go no-contact, gray rock, or distance yourself from them, it upsets them deeply. If you choose to disengage from their drama, it causes them anxiety and destabilizes their fragile identity.

They Fear Losing Their Narcissistic Supply
Flying monkeys and narcissists rely on “narcissistic supply”—their psychological fuel for self-centeredness, derived from attention, praise, and admiration. When this supply is cut off, they struggle, akin to a drug withdrawal. Narcissists need this supply to function.

They Fear Their Own Darkness
Narcissists are often afraid of their own abilities to harm others. Aware of their aggressive, vengeful tendencies, they live in fear of losing control and facing legal or psychological consequences for their actions.

They Fear Public Exposure
Narcissists and their flying monkeys dread the possibility of being exposed in public—whether through a blog, family gathering, or social media. Public humiliation threatens the carefully crafted image they show to others, and they fear losing power as a result.

They Fear Permanent Separation
Nothing scares narcissists and their flying monkeys more than the idea of you cutting ties permanently. The thought of losing control over you and seeing you rebuild a happy, successful life without them is deeply unsettling for them.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these 10 fears. Which of these resonates most with your experience? Leave a comment below with your opinions. Remember, recovery from narcissistic abuse is possible. For me, it’s been four years, and I am genuinely healing and doing well. I’ve worked extensively in trauma recovery with energy healers, trauma-informed therapists, and certified trauma recovery coaches. Thanks to holistic and therapeutic approaches, I’m no longer the person I was in 2018 when I first went no-contact with my narcissistic mother and enabling siblings. I am now a confident, strong individual dedicated to raising awareness about psychological and narcissistic abuse and supporting others in similar situations.
