Why is this important to understand? Because their counter-mirroring may convince you that you are a liar, cheater, and fraud, but the truth is you’re not. They are the ones stealing from you, but because they can’t accept that it’s their fault and that they lack a true personality, they blame you. This is called projection.
Do not let their projection become your perception of self, skills, talents, and capabilities. Their admiration of you proves that you are better than them. The fact that they are so obsessed with you, continuously coming after you, and wanting to be like you but hating to admit it is proof that you have done great for yourself.
I’m saying this to help you release the guilt and shame they may have planted in your head. Let go of the sense of obligation to prove to them that you are not copying them. Own your originality and stick to it. What comes out of their mouth is proof of their own failure because they can’t keep up with you. They can’t become you, so they have to bring you down to succeed.
