1. Exaggerated Happiness and Fake Achievements
They’ll exaggerate their happiness and success when they’re around you, often boasting about their achievements with exaggerated laughter and forced smiles. Their behavior may seem loud and theatrical as they talk endlessly about their accomplishments, connections, or financial status to appear superior. Why? Deep down, they feel insecure. They know they can’t match your authenticity or creativity, so they compensate by putting on a show, trying to convince others (and themselves) they’re larger than life. You might even notice they begin to copy your unique qualities or achievements—not just to create a bond, but to convince others they are “just as good” as you. Behind these displays is a person lacking integrity, someone insecure and craving validation. This is why you should never respond. Take it as a compliment and understand that you’re impacting their ego significantly.
