If I were to ask you whether a narcissist is truly intelligent or just foolish, what would your answer be? Many of you might say, “Oh, they’re really intelligent.” Why? Because they manipulate people so well. They’re masters of gaslighting and distorting reality. That’s true, and it’s undeniable that they can destroy lives. But I don’t think that’s a sign of intelligence. You can call it their predatory nature—the hallmark of their evil character, not intelligence.

Intelligence is about awareness—that’s the first thing. Anyone who claims to be intelligent would be highly aware of both their strengths and their shortcomings. But you and I both know that when it comes to a narcissist, they only selectively remain aware of their fake strengths. They don’t want to look within or reflect on their actions, which means they lack both foresight and insight. Is that intelligence? I don’t think so. They lack emotional intelligence as well, so is that what intelligence is all about? Again, I don’t think so. Being able to deal with numbers and think logically isn’t the full picture of intelligence; it’s just a part of it. They may be clever, but they’re not truly intelligent.
