Here’s a powerful image: you’re walking through a room and suddenly feel a cold chill on the back of your neck. You turn around, but there’s nothing there. The air is empty, the room is silent. That’s how a narcissist feels when you ignore them—like an unseen ghost. They’ve been walking around thinking they’re the life of the party, the star of every show, the center of every universe. But when you give them the cold shoulder, it’s as if they cease to exist in your world. You don’t see them; you don’t hear them. It’s as if they vanished.

They’ll do whatever it takes to be visible in your eyes. Yet, the more you ignore them, the more you highlight their total irrelevance to you.
This is a dangerous game, my friend. Because when you make someone feel like a ghost, they can either fade away or come back with a vengeance. And when the narcissist decides to haunt your life again, it won’t be pretty.
