Narcissists love control and seek it in many different ways. The revelations of who they truly are and what they have been up to are often not made clear until it is much too late. Today, I want to discuss the fact that a Narcissist may be silently spying on you. They often employ various covert tactics to spy on their victims to maintain control. Many of these methods are subtle and designed to avoid detection, making it difficult for the victim to realize they are being monitored.
7 Social Media
The most popular method is Social Media Surveillance. This is a favorite in our technological age as it is convenient and can be done from just about anywhere. By using fake accounts or the profiles of mutual friends, they can monitor your online activity without revealing their true identity. New Narcissists in your life may insist on being friends to connect with your social media platforms and directly observe your posts, comments, and more. Narcissists are very pushy in relationships. They tend to want to get close very quickly. I have made a video highlighting why a Narcissist would want to be your friend and how they would go about it. This adds another layer because the Narcissist could have already been spying on you through social media or can now use social media to monitor you directly. When a Narcissist has a new target, they don’t mind putting in the time to observe your every move.
