You do not attract narcissists because you have experienced childhood trauma, are an empath, a codependent, or a people-pleaser by nature. These traits might make you more appealing to them, but they are not the main reason. You are targeted by narcissists because you are a black sheep for the collective spirit of narcissism. Let that sink in.
Spiritually speaking, when you encounter a narcissistic individual, they feel intimidated by your presence. This is why you become their chosen target. They know that if you were to fully step into your power, you could cause them significant damage. To prevent this, they create an illusion to keep you distracted and, ultimately, cause you harm. They do not want you to realize that you are a force for good, capable of fulfilling your purpose. Instead, they act as obstacles, delaying your awakening to your true calling.
Reason 1: Seeing Through Their Masks
You are able to see through their masks. Why? Because you are a myth-buster, a cycle-breaker, a truth-teller, and a pattern-interrupter. You have an uncanny ability to connect the dots and uncover their true nature.
This is why narcissists work hard to keep you busy and distracted. They exploit your trauma, trigger your wounds, and suppress your intuition.
At the start of a relationship with a narcissist, your intuition warns you that something is off. However, they bypass your critical thinking through tactics like love-bombing and gaslighting. They appeal to your unresolved wounds, activating them, and you may find yourself falling for their act despite your initial doubts.
Deep down, narcissists fear your power. They know that if you fully embrace your authenticity, their lies, manipulation, and artificial persona will be exposed. This realization intimidates them, so they double down on their efforts to control and silence you.
