When it comes to narcissism, it’s important to understand that someone who is a narcissist has what’s known as Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). In a previous article, I went over all the diagnostic criteria, which is essential because people can exhibit narcissistic traits without having full-blown NPD. For example, just as someone may experience symptoms of anxiety without having Generalized Anxiety Disorder, a person can display some narcissistic traits without meeting the criteria for NPD. Today, I’ll walk you through some common traits of narcissism to help you determine if they resonate with your experiences or those of someone you know.
