You may believe that narcissists walk away untouched. Nothing happens to them. You might look at their lives from the outside and think they hurt people, destroy lives, yet still manage to keep their lives running with all the wealth, money, and power they have. It can feel like the world bends for them while you are left picking up the pieces. But what if I told you that’s not how it is? Yes, it looks all roses and glory, but they rot inside. They slowly rot. And that’s what I’m going to prove to you if you stay until the very end of this video. Sometimes their downfall unfolds slowly, and by the time it does, it’s too late for them to turn it around.
The Devaluation of Genuine Love
The first thing we need to talk about is how narcissists waste the love that is given to them freely. When a narcissist receives real love, what do they do? They rarely recognize its value. Genuine love is patient, loyal, forgiving, and, of course, deeply nourishing. It is the kind of love that can become a strong foundation for a very meaningful life. But narcissists do not nurture it; they exploit it. Instead, they take this love for granted, assuming it will always be there, no matter how cruel, careless, and indifferent they become.
At first, the people who love them keep forgiving, right? You keep showing up, and you keep hoping they will change. Narcissists mistake this endurance for your weakness. But, of course, love has limits. Slowly, that reservoir of forgiveness and patience begins to run dry. By the time narcissists realize what they had, it is already gone. The people who once loved them deeply have nothing left to give. And when they look around for that love again, what do they find? Only emptiness. This is where their downfall quietly begins. They lose the one force that could have truly held their lives together.
