Creepy Questions Narcissists Ask and Why

Narcissists are fast. They are quick with their words and actions. They try to move through people swiftly to identify who is a good target. Some people make it easy for them, while others make it difficult. Today, I want to focus on some questions that narcissists may ask in no time at all. These questions can seem “innocent” but are often unsettling. They ask these questions to test boundaries, gather personal information, or subtly undermine you. What makes them “creepy” is usually the timing, intensity, and hidden motives behind the questions, rather than the words themselves.

I have categorized these questions into four groups: Family Questions, Intimacy Questions, Control-Oriented Questions, and Flat-Out Creepy Personal Questions. I will provide example questions for each category, but if you have your own, please share them in the comments section below. The first set of questions I want to examine are the Intimacy Questions.

  • “Do you believe in soulmates?”
  • “Why do you think we met? Don’t you feel like it was meant to be?”
  • “Have you ever felt this close to anyone before?”
