Honesty is kryptonite to narcissists. They thrive in deception, manipulation, and denial. An honest person—someone who refuses to lie to themselves or others—is a serious threat to their carefully constructed facade.
While they may claim to value honesty, the truth is they:

- Lie to others without hesitation
- Manipulate reality to suit their narrative
Your unwavering commitment to truth makes them uncomfortable because it exposes them for who they truly are. And nothing terrifies a narcissist more than being seen for what they really are.
5. Not Being Easily Intimidated
Narcissists love to intimidate others—it’s one of their favorite control tactics. But when they realize you aren’t scared of them, their ego takes a hit.
You don’t have to seek out confrontation, but if you stand your ground and make it clear that you won’t be bullied, it throws them off.
Toxic manipulators expect their victims to be weak and compliant. But when they come across someone who sees through their false bravado and empty threats, they feel powerless.
