Number four: they isolate you from anyone who could recognize your light. The narcissist knows that their lies only work in the dark. If you find a mentor, a friend, or a partner who sees your true value, their spell is broken. To prevent this, they engage in a silent but deadly isolation campaign. They will subtly insult your friends, create drama during your important social events, and tell you that the people who love you are actually using you. They want to be the only mirror you look into because they are the only ones who will tell you that you are ugly. They want to cut your lifelines one by one until you feel like the only person in the world who understands or tolerates you is the very person who is actually destroying you. They are trying to build a wall around your soul so no light can get in, and, more importantly, so you cannot get out.
