In addition, according to the narcissist and their twisted perception of reality, this obviously serves as evidence that you were the one who was the problem in the relationship. If they’re in the process of hooking up with someone else and all is well in Neverland according to them, it’s clear that you were the one who was the issue to begin with. That’s the game being played around all of this.
Which is why it’s a really good idea when you go no contact, if you’re able, to avoid being randomly and unexpectedly punched in the heart with images on social media or anywhere else for that matter. So when you do it, do it right. And if that means that you don’t go to the same places for a little while so that you can avoid bumping into the narcissist and their new supply, so be it. Do what you need to do. This isn’t about what’s fair and what’s right or wrong; leave your ego out of it and love yourself enough to take care of yourself and sidestep all the nonsense. If you’re going to go no contact, like I said, do it right. Block them across all platforms so when they’re working really, really hard to flaunt that new source of supply, you’re oblivious, immune, and therefore, you aren’t unnecessarily affected because you’re taking care of yourself. Be smart.
