Sign number one: Persistent and unexplained body aches and pains. You’ve never struggled with migraines or recurring headaches, but suddenly, your head doesn’t stop aching. Your neck is constantly tight and tense, and the pain is either pulsating or throbbing. This pain travels down to your shoulders and takes over your chest. It feels like someone is sitting on your chest, making it hard to breathe properly. You try different medications, but nothing works. They may provide temporary relief, but the pain keeps returning. Your digestive system also gets involved, with centralized pain in your stomach that ranges from mild to intense, radiating to different parts of your body but never going away. Additionally, you may have a foggy mind and find it difficult to concentrate.
Now, you might argue that these signs and symptoms are associated with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). While that’s true, here’s the difference: When you’re dealing with CPTSD from trauma, particularly narcissistic abuse trauma, self-regulation and various healing modalities can provide relief. However, when it’s a spiritual attack, no matter what you do, the symptoms do not resolve. Your headaches persist, whether you take medication or engage in emotional work. Intrusive thoughts that you never used to have keep returning. The resolution does not come from inner work or medication, which is what differentiates it from a psychological or physical issue.
