They use the car as a torture chamber, speeding up when you try to defend yourself, only slowing down when you silence yourself. This is a form of coercive control and psychological strangulation, making you feel suffocated in the relationship. Not every driver instigates conflict in an inescapable setting, but narcissists do, making it abusive.
