Narcissists can easily discard anyone if they choose to; they will simply find another target to exploit for their desires. They have a wide variety of options, as they believe that other people exist solely to fulfill their needs. Narcissists can jump from one person to another to gratify their desires. Their many options allow them to compare which of their victims meet their expectations and can best satisfy their narcissistic needs. If you were a narcissist’s former victim who met their standards, expect to remain on the narcissist’s long list of favorite targets. You may have ended your relationship with the narcissist, but they will surely long for the satisfaction you once provided. They will desire you because they are unsatisfied with their new victim.
Number 7: The Narcissist Is Just Bored
When a person is bored, literally anything can come to their mind, including flashbacks of the past or imaginations of the future. These flashbacks or fantasies foster a longing for what a person once had. Narcissists are no different. Their boredom can cause them to miss the victims they have discarded, even if it was a long time ago. However, the narcissist’s feelings of longing are often selfish and never sentimental. Most people long to relive and reconnect the bonds they once shared with others, but narcissists only long for the benefits and satisfaction. If you think that the longing narcissists display after your separation is about you or the connection you once shared, you are gravely mistaken. Their hunger likely arises from what they cannot do or feel due to your absence. Always remember that self-centeredness is a hallmark of narcissists.
