And not just jealous—they’re envious of your success, your natural charm, and your ability to positively influence people.
They have to put on a mask and work hard to fool others into believing that they are wonderful to be around. However, it’s only a temporary state—they know they will eventually be exposed. That’s why they burn inside when they see you building long-lasting and meaningful relationships in your life.
If there’s one truth about narcissists, it’s that they are driven by competition. For them, there can be no harmony, mutual understanding, or cooperation. They never think in terms of mutual benefit. Instead, it’s always about how am I benefiting from this? Most importantly, how do I stay on top?
Narcissists are obsessed with being the best—having control, being admired, and standing out. To achieve this, they’ll cross every limit imaginable. They walk over people’s souls, not just their bodies. They lie, manipulate, cheat, and deceive at deeply personal levels. They see you as their biggest competition and want to emulate you. The proof lies in their mirroring behavior.
Why has the narcissist suddenly started wearing clothes in your favorite colors? Why are they mimicking your gestures, vocabulary, or mannerisms? Why have they started pursuing the same job or making similar types of friends? Why do they now enjoy the same foods you like? This isn’t mere coincidence. They aim to win your heart or create an invisible rapport. But it’s also about copying you.
